Christian   Awe

Being born in Berlin in 1978, Christian Awe lives and works in Berlin. The urban environment, the vibrant life and the people of cities such as Berlin, Ouagadougou and New York are important sources of inspiration for him, which he incorporates into his paintings. At the heart of his colourful and complex works lies an exploration of the fundamentals of painting, such as colour, contrast and composition. Christian Awe’s works captivate with their gestural and organic formal language, which arises from a dynamic dialogue between spontaneity, experimentation and artistic calculation.
