Cornelia Schleime | Einblicke – Ausblicke


With the exhibition „Einblicke – Ausblicke“ the Gallery Terminus presents for the first time the multifaceted work of the artist Cornelia Schleime. Born in 1953 in the former GDR, her artistic career stretched over several educational stages and some life crises: there was the exhibition ban in the GDR, the artistic restart after successful departure into BRD and the processing of her many years' shadowing by the Stasi (state security service). Today she is one of Germany’s best known and most successful artists.

In the exhibition big acrylic paintings from different creating phases was shown, some works from the „Hunting-Series“, the series 'Love Affairs', some of her large-sized female portraits and the unusual hermaphrodite's pictures, which belong to the series 'Camouflage'.

The portraits of Cornelia Schleimes with the astonishing quality to answer intensely the look of the viewer was to be seen from November 21th to December 20th, 2012.
