Grid structures in gold and platin document the desire to experiment and his enthusiasm for technique, which have been formative of the work of the 79-year old artist for decades.
Dynamics and movement characterize Piene’s large format figurative graphite drawings of the early seventies. The rarity and uniqueness of these extraordinary works are proof of the diversity and vitality of the artist’s overall oeuvre.
