Helene B. Grossmann - from Madrid to Berlin

'My aim is to create pictures full of pulsating life in detail and peace as a whole.' Helene B. Grossmann

The mountains shrouded in thick cloud, the grass dripping wet, the lake not very inviting. It was a rainy summer at Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, an area famous for its mild climate and scenic beauty. Everyone was longing for stable weather, and only the painter Helene B.Grossmann was enthusiastic: 'These colours, this blue and green, and then the light too, the reflections...' Artists obviously perceive things differently. Finally the clouds opened up and revealed the beauty in its entirety. Helene B. Grossmann, normally at home in Munich, had a summer studio in Küssnacht near the Rigi in 2008 and soaked up everything so thoroughly that she even changed her range of colours and used a blue and green never seen before in her work. Helene B.Grossmann prefers the view from above - from a plane or from the peak of a mountain. That too is why the exhibbition is called 'From Madrid to Berlin'.
